Hurricane Dorian Spares Miami
It has been a long 5 days of uncertainty for everyone in Miami, luckily we were spared from Dorians destructive path. As you know our friends in the Bahamas were not as lucky, it will take months, many volunteers and millions of dollars to rebuild. One of the first organizations that have pledged to help is World Central Kitchen , led by world renowned chef Jose Andres and his wife Patricia. Most of you might have had the pleasure to dine at The Bazaar By Jose Andres located on Collins Avenue or even at one of his many restaurants around the globe, but did you know that WCK is his most prized project.
"We envisioned an organization that would create smart solutions to hunger and poverty, and for many years we saw an amazing impact through our clean cookstoves initiative, culinary training programs, and social enterprise ventures that empower communities and strengthen economies. But we had no idea we would one day be answering the call in Puerto Rico and around the world – “Food First Responders” serving millions of meals each year. In the process, we learned that a small NGO can change the world through the power of food".
Let's show our friends in the Bahamas some love and compassion, if you would like to help please visit https://donate.wck.org/give/236738/#!/donation/checkout, to donate anything you can or become a volunteer.
We appreciate you !
